Installing Support Brackets
To provide adequate shelf support, support brackets (or you may use support poles instead) are needed every three feet or less. Closer spacing provides additional support, but should not interfere with your storage requirements. Support brackets are also required for open-end installations (those not ending at a wall). To install, position bracket on shelf so that it hooks over the top wire rod on the front lip and a deck wire runs between the hooks. Level your shelf, drill a 1/4" hole using the bracket as a guide, and install a wall anchor by pushing it into the drilled hole and securing with a pin or screw as required for your wall type. When used with shelves not ending at walls, you will need to position support brackets 2" in from the open ends as well as every three feet.
Different support brackets are needed for different shelf depths. Use 12" support brackets with 12" shelving or for 16" SuperSlide shelving when used with SuperSlide hardware components. When using the 12" bracket with 16" SuperSlide shelving and hardware, the bracket should be installed at 12" from the back wall so that it will not interfere with the SuperSlide hanger bar. For 16" Wardrobe shelving or for 16" SuperSlide when used only for storage, a 16" bracket is needed. 20" shelving needs 20" support brackets.
